This is one of the smallest Eriocaulon. It need fertile substrate to thrive, as it draws most of its nutrients from its extensive root system. Other requirements are typical for most moderately difficult plants: lighting should be intense, CO2 is a necessity, and a typical water column fertilization regimen (including nitrate, phosphate, potassium, and micronutrients) should be in place.
This relatively small aquarium plant grows slowly even when conditions are to its liking. Maximum height is 3 cm, it is hardy permanently submerged and good at
lawn making. It is though, slow growing. Propagation is by adventurous
runners and seed would also be possible as an occasional flowering
appears. Eriocaulon sp. "Sulawesi" is a special rarity that is rarely available due to its low propagation rate.
